The Act
The Act is a scripted Hulu series. Its first season depicts Gypsy Blanchard and her relationship with her mother, with Joey King playing Gypsy and Patricia Arquette playing Dee Dee.[1]
Production
Hulu identifies Nick Antosca and Michelle Dean as the co-creators, drawing on Dean’s earlier BuzzFeed article. Its production credits list Universal Content Productions. The cast also includes Calum Worthy as Nick, Chloë Sevigny as Mel, and AnnaSophia Robb as Lacey.[2]
Drama and the real case
This page covers the television production. The case overview covers the proceedings. An article comparing the two should identify the specific scene and then cite independent evidence for the real-world event being compared.
For a scene, include its episode and timestamp. For a factual claim about an investigation, plea, or sentence, use a case source rather than treating an actor’s dialogue as a transcript.
